Grega Bole, already 35 years old so his best years are behind him. I can see Bole continuing his career for a bit with Adria Mobil just like Brajkovic did. WorldTour team is very unlikely.
José Francisco Ventoso, 38 years old. Same for Bole really but with different options due too his nationality. With the large amount of Spanish ProTour/Conti teams he could probably continue there to help youngsters on their way up. Euskatel – Euskadi for example.
Carlos Betancur, not getting a new contract at Movistar. It has been a difficult season for Betancur because due too family reasons he wasn’t able to fly to Europe and do his races. Only 13 racedays in 2020. Signed with Colombia Tierra De Atletas.
Daniel Navarro, same story as Ventoso.
Christian Knees, retiring
Jan Polanc, probably extending with UAE? But wasn’t among the extensions they announced today. Other options could be Bahrein – Mclaren, Mitchelton – Scott or Jumbo Visma. Stays at UAE.
Jay Mccarthy, his Vuelta ended with a nasty crash, bummer because his stages still had to come. Unclear were he is heading, would be exciting to see someone like him on a ProTour team. His punch should give him a good chance to ride for the win in some of the smaller races.
Guillaume van Keirsbulck, was at Wanty in the past so maybe he could go back but they don’t really need a rider with his profile, their are plenty on the market aswell.
Julien Vermote, no extension at Cofidis but Vermote thinks he still has a place at the highest level in cycling. We definetly agree especially when he finds his Quick-Step legs! Short interview
Danilo Wyss, probably retiring
Mihkel Räim, if he is willing to do leadouts I can see Räim go to Cofidis or a ProTour team. Update 01/05, still no team every day continental team becomes more likely.
Jesper Hansen, going to Riwal but now that they don’t have enough money to continue as a ProTour team it’s a questionmark
Mitchel Docker, likely renewing at EF
Stéphane Rossetto, still looking for a team
Benjamin Dyball, Team UKYO
Laurens de Vreese, Alpecin – Fenix
Pawel Poljanski, retiring
Luka Pibernik, probably not renewed at Bahrein, Adria – Mobil? Retired
Cameron Wurf, extension at Ineos
Yousif Mirza, contract extension at UAE unlikely as they already published a lot of the extensions and have enough riders for 2021. As no other teams have a need for a rider from the UAE as a sponsor request etc. Mirza’s WT adventure seems unlikely to continue.
Jonathan Klever Caicedo, contract extension at EF? Extended
Will Clarke, probably retiring
Leonardo Basso, rumoured to renew at Ineos. Extended
Michal Paluta, no clues
Brian van Goethem, maybe BEAT? But tough competition with riders like Havik, Budding and Nömmela. Retired
Hernando Bohorquez, retiring
Mathias Le Turnier, not getting an extension at Cofidis. Apparantly a continental team is interested but he has to bring in his own sponsors. Source. Signed by Delko
Marco Mathis, has to leave Cofidis, destination unknown. Training with Ackermann a bit but don’t think he has showed enough to get himself a place at an ambitious team like Bora unfortunately
Shotaro Iribe, not getting a contract extension at NTT. EF has signed 2 Japanese riders already due too their new sponsor. Iribe might be a third option for them. Goes to Yowamushi Pedal Cycling
Patrick Schelling and Luis Villalobos, both without a team due too doping, very unlikely to find a WorldTour/ProTour team.
Hernando Bohórquez and Daniil Fominykh, (ex-Astana), no good results, some rumours for continental teams.
